Intel plans to bring its OLPC killer, the Classmate PC, to the US and Europe. With the Asus Eee PC and Everex's Cloudbook doing ever-so-well in the super cheap portable market, it's no surprise that Intel wants a piece of the action, too.
According to Reuters, "computer makers will start selling Intel-designed Classmate PCs in those markets for about $250 to $350". That leads us to believe that the machines will be made under license rather than by Intel itself. Are undeveloped nations becoming a test ground for new niche products in the developed world?
